Recursion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (RXRX - Free Report) emphasized clinical progress, disciplined spending and an extended cash runway on its third-quarter 2026 earnings call. Management highlighted encouraging data from two investigational therapies while outlining plans to concentrate resources on programs showing stronger clinical evidence.

The company also discussed pharmaceutical partnerships and its AI-driven drug discovery platform. Management's priorities center on advancing clinical candidates, securing regulatory alignment and improving operating efficiency through 2027.

RXRX Advances REC-4881 Toward Registrational Study

President and CEO Najat Khan highlighted updated Phase 2 results for REC-4881 in familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), a hereditary condition associated with gastrointestinal cancer risk.

After 12 weeks of treatment, 87% of evaluable patients experienced reductions in total polyp burden, with a median reduction of 47%. Approximately one-third achieved reductions of at least 65%.

Khan emphasized sustained activity after treatment discontinuation and reductions in larger, higher-risk polyps. Recursion targets initiating a registrational study in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory alignment.

Recursion Sees Early Oncology Signals From REC-1245

Chief medical officer Vicki Goodman discussed early clinical activity for REC-1245, an investigational molecular glue targeting RBM39 in solid tumors.

The Phase 1 study produced two confirmed partial responses in endometrial cancer and one unconfirmed response in hepatocellular carcinoma. Disease control reached 91.7% among 12 evaluable patients receiving doses of at least 45 milligrams.

Goodman said the company selected 45 milligrams daily for exploratory expansion cohorts based on activity and tolerability. Preliminary endometrial cancer expansion results are expected in the second half of 2027.

RXRX Beats Quarterly Earnings and Revenue Estimates

Recursion reported third-quarter 2026 loss of 22 cents per share, narrower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of 24 cents. The company had recorded a loss of 36 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.

Quarterly revenues totaled $18.6 million, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.9 million. Revenues increased from $5.2 million in the prior-year quarter, primarily reflecting collaboration revenue from Sanofi.

Net loss narrowed to $119 million from $162.3 million a year earlier. Research and development expenses declined to $99.1 million from $121.1 million, partly reflecting acquisition-related costs incurred in the prior-year period.

Recursion Extends Cash Runway Through Spending Discipline

CFO Ben Taylor emphasized improved financial flexibility following the October financing, which generated approximately $187.2 million in net proceeds.

Pro forma cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash reached approximately $748.7 million as of Sept. 30, 2026, including offering proceeds. Management expects the cash runway to extend into 2029.

Taylor reiterated 2026 cash operating expense guidance below $375 million and projected spending below $360 million in 2027. He emphasized technology adoption, operating efficiencies and investment prioritization.

RXRX Builds on Sanofi and Genentech Partnerships

Khan highlighted partnerships as evidence of the company's ability to translate AI-driven discoveries into development opportunities across therapeutic areas.

Sanofi optioned its first development candidate from the collaboration, triggering a $10 million milestone payment. The investigational immunology treatment is expected to enter Phase 1 testing in 2027.

Genentech also advanced its first validated neuroscience target from Recursion's biological maps. Management highlighted more than $535 million in cumulative partnership cash inflows, reinforcing its emphasis on recurring discovery milestones.

Recursion Addresses Key Questions on Clinical Strategy

During Q&A, a Bank of America analyst questioned whether REC-4881's activity against larger polyps could change treatment practices. Goodman emphasized the potential to reduce surveillance and procedural burden while acknowledging the need for further clinical evidence.

Responding to a JPMorgan question about treatment breaks, Goodman discussed the potential flexibility offered by sustained responses. Future studies will help establish appropriate treatment approaches.

A Jefferies analyst questioned REC-1245's competitive positioning against emerging endometrial cancer treatments. Goodman highlighted responses in previously treated patients, while Khan emphasized the drug's distinct mechanism and potential combination opportunities.

RXRX Maintains a Focused Development Strategy

Responding to Morgan Stanley's capital allocation question, Khan reiterated that clinical evidence would determine where Recursion accelerates investment.

Management maintained its focus on advancing differentiated therapies, supporting partnerships and controlling spending. Regulatory discussions and additional clinical readouts remain central to the company's development priorities.
